COVID-19 UPDATES
FOR MALAYSIAN CITIZENS IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION, ARMENIA AND BELARUS
- The Embassy of Malaysia in the Russian Federation continues to closely monitor developments concerning the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
- As the representative of the Malaysian Government to Russia, Armenia and Belarus, the Embassy wishes to reach out and reassure every single Malaysian and their loved ones in these countries that your health, wellbeing, safety and welfare remains our highest priority in these trying times.
- As you may also be aware, the Russian Government had recently introduced certain measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 virus, including the closure of all Russian borders to all foreigners until 1 May 2020.
- While the option of returning to Malaysia remains open depending on flight availability, Malaysian citizens including students who are currently in the Russian Federation, Armenia and Belarus are strongly urged to postpone and reconsider non-essential travel abroad, including returning to Malaysia due to the global impact of COVID-19.
- Please be advised that until more clarity is available on the global COVID-19 situation, there is a possibility that you may not be able to return/re-enter Russia, Armenia or Belarus should the situation deteriorate further.
- Taking into account currently available information, all persons entering Malaysia, Russia, Armenia and Belarus will be subject to mandatory health screening and quarantine for 14 days, without exception.
- Following consultations with all relevant partners and stakeholders in Moscow, Yerevan, Minsk and in Malaysia, the Embassy is of the view that for the time being, the situation in Russia, Armenia and Belarus remain stable and under control.
- For now, the advice to all Malaysians in these countries is to stay put, to stay indoors and minimize outdoor trips, to take the necessary precautions and to follow the advice of the health and safety authorities in your respective areas.
- The Embassy wishes to express its appreciation to all Malaysians that have taken the time to register with us. Be assured that the Embassy will be in direct contact should the need arise. The Embassy further urges those who have yet to register to do so as a matter of priority.

- Please be sure to include any other relevant info, e.g. details of accompanying family members (if any), medical info/situation, etc.
- The Embassy also wishes to share that as of today, there remain no instances of Malaysians in either Russia, Armenia or Belarus having caught COVID-19. Let us hope that remains so.
- Let us also pray that the pandemic will soon pass so that we may resume our daily lives and could soon reunite with family, friends and loved ones.
