Moscow, 11 January 2020 - HE. Ambassador Datuk Mat Dris Haji Yaacob completed his tour of duty as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to the Russian Federation (with concurrent accreditation to Armenia and Belarus), and simultaneously retired from the Malaysian Administrative and Diplomatic Service.
In expressing appreciation to all Embassy officials and staff for their unflagging efforts and support rendered during his tenure as ambassador, Datuk Mat Dris also expressed hope that the good relations and friendship established with all HBS and LRS will continue undiminished.
Over a relatively short but impactful two years in Moscow, Datuk Mat Dris Haji Yaacob had contributed to tremendous improvement and development of bilateral relations between Malaysia and the Russian Federation, as well as significant engagement with Russian business communities, think tanks, academicians and friends of Malaysia.
