On Tuesday, 19 October 2010 H.E. Dato' Zainol Abidin Omar, Ambassador - designate of Malaysia to the Russian Federation met with H.E. Mr. Alexey N. Borodavkin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation to present the latter with a copy of his Letters of Credence. The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russian Federation and the Deputy Foreign Minister was accompanied by Mr. Kanchava Alexander, Deputy Director of the Third Asia Department.
The Deputy Foreign Minister welcomed H.E. Dato' Zainol Abidin to the Russian Federation and congratulated him on his appointment as the Malaysian Ambassador to the Russian Federation. Both sides discussed issues related to bilateral realations between Russia and Malaysia namely in trade, investment, education, military cooperation, science and technology. Deputy Foreign Minister mentioned that Russia values its good bilateral relationship with Malaysia and Russia is looking forward to improving the close relationship and cooperation with Malaysia.
