The opening ceremony of the ASEAN Games 2011 in Moscow was officiated by Y.Bhg. Dato’ Zainol Abidin Omar the current Chairman of the ASEAN Moscow Committee on 11 June 2011 at the Embassy of Malaysia in Moscow. Other ASEAN Ambassadors were also present at the opening ceremony. Approximately 150 members of the ASEAN community, namely the ASEAN Embassies staff and family members participated in the event.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the ASEAN Darts Tournament which was organized by the Malaysian Embassy was held. The ASEAN Darts Tournament is one of the games organized by the ASEAN Moscow Committee (AMC). The other games that will be held this year as part of the ASEAN Games are badminton, bowling, petaque, tug-of-war, etc.
