The Sechenov Intervarsity Games 2017 was held on 14-16 April 2017 in Moscow. The event has been organised by Malaysian students studying in IM Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University and was participated by Malaysian Students from seven (7) University in Russia as well as team from the Embassy. The event includes various sports competition namely, futsal, table tennis, basketball, netball, volleyball, badminton and rugby.
H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Hayati binti Ismail officiated the event on 14 April 2017. In her remarks, she commended the Malaysian students for organising such a major event and emphasized on the importance of unity amongst Malaysians in Russia as well as responsibility of students.
The Embassy has also took the opportunity to provide mobile consular services at the event.
Overall, the event provided an opportunity to strengthen goodwill as well as to promote awareness on healthy lifestyle and provided the necessary organisation skills for the students.
