Saudi, Malaysian Businessmen Launch Friendship Society

JEDDAH: The birth of a Saudi-Malaysian society was announced during a function attended by a large number of businessmen and officials from both sides here recently. Saudi businessman Abdul Khaliq Saeed was chosen chairman of the society.

 

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office in Malaysia Dato Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the significance of the establishment of this society emanates from the pivotal role of the two countries in the Islamic world and their growing economic position.

 

He urged businessmen from the two countries to support the newly established society to achieve its objective, which is the strengthening of bilateral relations.

 

For his part, Saeed said the establishment of the society would further boost the already existing strong ties between the two countries and added that the society would endeavor to increase the trade exchange between Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.

 

He added that the establishment of the society was within the directives of the two countries’ leadership to consolidate bilateral ties.

 

Saeed, who owns one of the big business groups in the Kingdom, said the world economy is based on establishing relations of mutual interest and equal opportunities. He lauded the strong relationship between the Kingdom and Malaysia and said the two countries are tied together with bonds of friendship and brotherhood.

 

At the end of the function, a tourism agreement was signed between the two sides. More and more Saudis travel to Malaysia now to spend their summer vacation.

 

Saeed said the trade exchange and the mutual investments have also grown up between the two countries in various sectors, including tourism and education
