Ambassador Mahinder made an official visit to the state of Anzoategui on 31 October 2011 and met the Governor, Dr Tarek William Saab and also the mayor of Simon Bolivar Municipality (Barcelona City), Mrs Ines Sifontes.
In the discussions, Ambassador Mahinder informed of Malaysia’s interest to share the experiences in development particularly in the oil and gas industry, tourism and agriculture.
The programme also included a visit to the INDESA Research Centre at Universidad de Oriente (UDO) to look at prospects for cooperation in the area of higher education including the area of research in oil and gas and agriculture.
