Caracas, 25 April 2025 - As part of Malaysia’s ongoing economic diplomacy efforts, the Embassy of Malaysia in Caracas facilitated a meeting between Datuk Ami Rozaidi Chik Ros, Vice President of FGV Holdings Berhad, and Dr. Silfredo Zambrano, Mayor of San Cristóbal Municipality in Táchira State. The engagement aimed to introduce FGV’s expertise, products, and services as potential contributions to the development of Táchira’s palm oil industry.

During the meeting, Datuk Ami Rozaidi presented FGV’s capabilities in the areas of agricultural innovation, including the supply of high-quality palm oil seeds, technical consultancy, and the provision of specialised machinery tailored to support palm oil cultivation and processing. The discussion also centred on potential collaboration in enhancing Táchira’s agribusiness value chain and boosting local economic activity through sustainable palm oil development. Mayor Zambrano expressed interest in exploring avenues for cooperation, particularly in efforts to revitalise agricultural productivity in the region.

The meeting underscored the value of public-private partnerships in bridging international expertise with local development priorities. It highlighted the opportunities for Malaysian companies to contribute to Venezuela’s agricultural and industrial growth.

The Embassy’s facilitation of this strategic dialogue reflects Malaysia’s continued commitment to strengthening bilateral commercial ties and promoting Malaysian expertise in global markets, particularly in high-impact sectors such as agriculture and sustainable development.
