Caracas, 22 April 2025 – The Embassy of Malaysia in Caracas facilitated and supported the participation of six Malaysian delegates in the 1st International Entrepreneurship Congress, held from 22 to 25 April 2025 at the Convention Centre of the Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda Air Base in Caracas. Organised by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the congress served as a regional platform to foster entrepreneurial exchange, innovation, and cross-border business collaboration.
Representing Malaysia were industry leaders from three companies. Datuk Ami Rozaidi Chik Ros attended on behalf of FGV Berhad; Mr. Mohammad Hasbullah Mat Soom and Mr. Muhammad Zaim bin Rubaie represented Dragger Engineering Sdn Bhd; while Mr. Ahmed Hamidaddin joined the event under Avera Trading. The delegation also included Ms. Deborah Melissa Bottreau, representing the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Council, which further highlights Malaysia’s regional leadership and youth entrepreneurship efforts within the ASEAN framework.
With over 300 participants from countries such as Türkiye, Serbia, Russia, China, Trinidad and Tobago, Egypt, and Vietnam, the congress brought together a vibrant mix of public and private sector players. The opening ceremony was officiated virtually by Vice President Delcy Rodríguez and attended by senior Venezuelan officials, including Minister of Economy and Finance Anabel Pereira, Deputy Minister of Digital Economy, Banking, Insurance and Securities Jimmy Barrios, President of the National Entrepreneurship Fund (FONAEM) Maryuri Bargiela, and Director of the Entrepreneurship Motor Sergio Lotartaro.
Malaysia’s presence at the congress underscored its proactive engagement in expanding international trade relations and promoting innovation-driven economic partnerships, particularly in emerging markets. The Embassy’s support for this initiative reflects Malaysia’s broader commitment to deepening economic diplomacy and encouraging business linkages in Latin America.
