Their Majesties the Yang di-Pertuan Agong XIV, Almu’tasimu Billahi Muhibbuddin Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah and the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah was in Mecca to perform their hajj pilgrimage from 19-31 October 2012 as the guest of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Majesty King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz.
Their Majesties the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Raja Permaisuri Agong were accompanied by Tunku Temenggong of Kedah Tan Sri Tunku Sallehuddin ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, Toh Puan Temenggong of Kedah Puan Sri Tengku Maliha Tengku Ariff, Tunku Panglima Besar of Kedah Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, Datuk Seri Diraja Tunku Soraya Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, Datuk Seri Iskandar Dzulkarnain Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Idris Afifullah, HE. Tan Sri Mohd Radzi Abdul Rahman and Puan Sri Jazliza Jalaluddin, officials from Istana Negara, Prime Minister’s Department and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Their Majesties were welcomed in Madinah by HRH Prince Abdul Aziz bin Majed bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Madinah, Mej Jen (B) Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, HE. Datuk Syed Omar Al Saggaf, Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Mr. Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak, Consul General in Jeddah.
In Madinah, Their Majesties and the royal entourage visited the tomb of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and prayed at the Prophet’s Mosque (Masjid an-Nabawi), visited Masjid Quba and Mount Uhud. Their Majesties then left for Jeddah and perform the umrah in Mecca on 21 October 2012. In Mecca, Their Majesties and entourage visited the Tabung Haji Headquarters and meet with Malaysian haj pilgrims.
Yang di-Pertuan Agong also attended an annual reception hosted by King Abdullah on 27 October 2012 held at the Royal Court of Mina Palace along with other dignitaries. Their Majesties safely left Jeddah for Kuala Lumpur on 31 October 2012 via special aircraft.
