A MEETING ON THE HUMANITARIAN SITUATION IN YEMEN THE GCC SECRETARIAT, RIYADH SAUDI ARABIA 21 MARCH 2012

The meeting was an initiative launched at the coordination meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Republic of Yemen in their joint meeting in Sana’a on 27 February 2012 in which they have agreed to hold a meeting on the humanitarian situation in Yemen, and following the conclusions of the consultation meeting on Yemen on 13 February 2012. The meeting attended by representatives from thirty countries and International organisations including GCC state members; United Nation; United State and European Union as well as many others from donor countries and organisations. Malaysia’s delegation comprised the following: H.E. Prof. Datuk Syed Omar Al Saggaf, Ambasador and Mr. Mohamad Shahir Sabarudin, Counsellor.  The meeting was chaired by Dr. Abdel Aziz Hamad Aluwaisheg, GCC Assistant Secretary General for Negotiations and Strategic Dialogue.
