H.E. Prof. Datuk Syed Omar Al Saggaf, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Madame Datin Tuanwatimah Al Jufree hosted a reception on the occasion of the 54th National Day of Malaysia on 27 September 2011 at the Tuwaiq Palace, Riyadh Saudi Arabia. His Excellency Dr. Naser Abdulaziz Al Dawoud, Assistant Governor of Riyadh was the guest of honour at the reception. The celebration was attended by about 250 people including Mr. Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak, Consul General of Malaysia in Jeddah, businessmen, press members and Malaysian citizens in the Kingdom.
Following the national anthems of the Kingdom and then Malaysia, H.E. Ambassador Prof. Datuk Syed Omar Al Saggaf , in his welcome remarks, highlighted the good state of relations between Malaysia and the Kingdom, underlining the range of cooperation both countries have enjoyed bilaterally, regionally and internationally.
Following the speech and the cake cutting, the guests were treated to a variety of Malaysian dishes including Roti Canai, Kuih Ketayap, Kuih Lapis and assorted pastries. While enjoying the food, the guests were also entertained with visual presentations promoting Malaysia.
