As part of the Embassy of Malaysia in Riyadh's efforts to boost economic relations with Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Prof Datuk Syed Omar Al Saggaf chaired the meeting with a number of businessmen on 28 March 2012 at the Embassy of Malaysia, Riyadh.
Ambassador Prof. Datuk Syed Omar briefed the meeting on the potential investments in Malaysia as well as the business environment in Malaysia. He stressed that the Malaysian economy is projected to grow between 4% to 5% this year supported by sustained domestic demand and proposed that Saudi businessmen should look into the opportunities to develop business relation in the identified areas.
Dr. Mohammed Al Ali, General Manager of the Stargate Institute said that frequent exchanges of business delegations were needed to exploit untapped bilateral trade and investment potential in Malaysia. Both sides agreed that the two countries must build on this strong bond and further elevate relations in trade, investment, education, construction, finance, ICT and tourism. Ambassador was joined by Mr. Mohamad Shahir Sabarudin, Counsellor of the Embassy of Malaysia, Saudi Arabia.
