Embassy Hosts Farewell For Retiring Local Staff
On 1st February 2018, the Embassy of Malaysia in Dakar hosted a farewell lunch for Mr Boubacar Diallo, who is due to retire on 6 February 2018. Mr Diallo has been with the embassy since 1994, and at the time of retirement was one of the embassy’s drivers.
Amidst the emotional farewell from his colleagues at the embassy, Mr Diallo recounted how he has enjoyed working at the embassy and with the Malaysians and Senegalese alike at the office. In appreciation of his service, the office presented him with a plaque, among others.
The end of the round of speeches and remarks signalled the beginning of the Malaysian-style farewell, with food and drinks brought in from one of the local Senegalese restaurants.
