Ambassador Ilango Karuppannan hosted ‘Perjumpaan 1Malaysia’ for the first quarter of the year on 18 March 2011 at the Embassy. The main purpose of the meeting was to provide an opportunity for Malaysians residing in Lebanon to mingle with each other and share information on the latest developments in Malaysia and Lebanon.
During the meeting, the Ambassador shared the latest situation in Lebanon as well as highlighting the Talent Corporation’s initiative to attract Malaysians in overseas to serve in Malaysia. He also informed about the future events to be hosted which would include similar gatherings for the following quarters of the year, celebrations of Malaysia’s main festivals as well as hosting of Iftar. To this effect, he expressed hope that Malaysians in Lebanon would continue to attend such events.
The event during which the attendees were served with various Malaysian dishes and delicacies, was also used to update the contact details of the Malaysians.
