Mr Johan Arief Jaafar, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, Embassy of Malaysia in Beirut, Lebanon, held a virtual meeting with Mr Yazrin Syakhairi Mahlan, Consul (Trade) / Trade Commissioner of MATRADE Jeddah, to discuss ways to further strengthen trade and investment relations between Malaysia and Lebanon. Mr Johan Arief reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to enhancing economic cooperation and highlighted Lebanon’s market opportunities.
During the meeting, Mr Yazrin shared MATRADE’s strategic priorities, including cooperation with international financial institutions to support Lebanon’s recovery efforts and the encouragement of Malaysian participation in reconstruction initiatives.
Both sides underscored the importance of proactive engagement in advancing bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Malaysia and Lebanon.
