DOCUMENTS NOTARISE AND ATTESTATION
A) LEGALISATION ON ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS ISSUED IN MALAYSIA
The documents must first be legalised by the Consular Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Putrajaya, before they can be endorsed by the High Commission of Malaysia.B) CERTIFICATION OF TRUE COPY OF DOCUMENTS ISSUED IN MALAYSIA
Applicants are required to present the original Malaysian documents together with a photocopy for certification.
- Birth certificate
- Identity card (IC)
- Passport
- Marriage certificate
- Divorce certificate
- Educational certificates (STPM and below)
Note: Diploma, degree, and higher qualifications must first be certified by the Ministry of Education, Putrajaya, and subsequently endorsed by the Consular Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Putrajaya before submission to the High Commission of Malaysia for endorsement.
C) TRANSLATION OF MALAYSIAN DOCUMENTS
The High Commission does not provide translation services. Applicants must obtain translations either from:
- Malaysian Institute of Translation & Books - Institut Terjemahan & Buku Malaysia (ITBM),
- Malaysian Translation Association (MTA), or
- High Court in Malaysia.
The translated documents must be endorsed by the Consular Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Putrajaya before submission for endorsement to the High Commission of Malaysia in Singapore. Please be advised that translations certified by a Notary Public are not accepted.
All documents issued in Singapore are required to be legalised by the Singapore Academy of Law prior to endorsement by the High Commission of Malaysia.
E) FOREIGN DOCUMENTS (EXCLUDING SINGAPORE DOCUMENTS)
Documents issued by foreign authorities and translated documents (even issued in Singapore) must be certified by the respective Embassy, Consulate, or High Commission of the issuing country accredited in Singapore.
Applicants are required to obtain the specimen signature of the certifying officer from the relevant Embassy, Consulate, or High Commission. The specimen signature must be submitted by the relevant Embassy, Consulate, or High Commission via email (consular@mhc.org.sg) to this office before the documents can be certified by the High Commission of Malaysia in Singapore.
F) WITNESSING OF SIGNATURE
The High Commission does not accept the witnessing of signatures on forms 14A and 16A.
All other documents (except 14A and 16A) must be verified by the High Commission before submission. Please upload the document for verification purposes.G) STATUTORY DECLARATION
The content of a Statutory Declaration (SD) must be verified by the High Commission before submission. Please upload the SD for verification purpose.

- Submission of applications is by appointment only.
- Collection is after three (3) working days.
