8TH INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION FOR YOUNG INVENTORS, BANGKOK, 28 - 30 JUNE 2012

Thailand is playing host to the 8th edition of the International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) which is currently being held at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bangna where more than 10 countries are participating in the said exhibition. Malaysia sends the largest delegation comprising of more than 60 participants who are largely drawn from students from residential schools such as MRSM Jasin, MRSM Alor Gajah, MRSM Kuantan and Kolej MARA Kuala Nerang as well as few other government-sponsored residential schools. There are also a small number of Diploma students from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (Unimap) participating in the exhibition.

 
IEYI is a platform given to students from secondary schools to showcase their creative invention based on the theme stipulated by the organiser. The chosen invention is deemed to have potential to be commercialised and patented for the benefit of the larger population.
