BOMBING INCIDENTS IN YALA AND SONGKHLA
The Embassy of Malaysia wishes to inform that as a result of the bombing incidents which took place on 31 March 2012 in Yala Province and the town of Hatyai, Songkhla, one Malaysia was killed and 27 other Malaysians injured.
We would like to extend our appreciation to the local Thai Authorities which have rendered assistance to those affected. The Consulate General of Malaysia in Songkhla is making efforts to ensure that the injured Malaysians receive proper medical attention. If the situation permits, the injured Malaysians will be transferred to Malaysia in due course. The Consulate has also set up a 24-hour Operations Room. Malaysians who, out of necessity, are required to visit the provinces of Yala, Narathiwat, Pattani and Songkhla are advised to consult the Consulate General of Malaysia in Songkhla for advice and should thereafter observe all necessary security precautions.
