The Thai Red Cross Society in association with the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer (QSCBC) had organised its annual charity fun run to raise funds for cancer research conducted by QSCBC. The run was held on Saturday 31 October 2009 at the famous Lumpini Park, in the heart of Bangkok. Judging from the crowd, more than 4,000 people had participated in the said run.

2.         The Embassy of Malaysia’s team comprising of 17 runners led by Dato’ Husni Zai and Datin Norshiha had also participated in the said charity run. The team proceeded to the venue on foot as part of the warming up session. After a short speech by H.E. Apirak Kasayodhin, former Governor of Bangkok and the warming up session led by instructors from Fitness Innovation Thailand Ltd (FIT), the enthusiastic runners proceeded to the starting line and began their sweating session. Other than Dato’ Husni, two other foreign envoys were also spotted among the crown namely from Canada and the Netherlands.

3.         While none of the runners from the Embassy was able to bag any of the prizes offered especially with the presence of runners from Africa, the spirit displayed by them that really mattered as the proceeds from the charity run will be channeled directly to QSCBC and of course to show that the Embassy also places importance on charity work.
