EXERCISE COBRA GOLD 2018, 13 FEBRUARY 2018

Exercise Cobra Gold 2018, co-hosted by the Royal Thai Armed Forces and the U.S. Pacific Command kicked off on 13 February 2018 in Thailand. General Tharnchaiyan Srisuwan, Chief of Defence Forces, Royal Thai Armed Forces and H.E. Mr. Glyn Davies, Ambassador of the United States of America to the Kingdom of Thailand officially opened the international military exercise in U-Tapao Naval Airbase in Rayong Province. The opening ceremony was also attended by Mr. Mohd Faizal Razali, Deputy Chief of Mission with other Ambassadors and DCMs of participating countries.

Cobra Gold is one of the largest joint and combined military exercises in the region and has been continuously conducted in Thailand every year. In total 11,075 military servicemen from 29 countries are participating in this year’s exercise, which is scheduled to last until 23 February 2018.
