PROMOTION OF MALAYSIAN EDUCATION IN THAILAND
10 & 11 OCTOBER 2009
Consistent with the aspiration of turning Malaysia as a regional education hub, Malaysia through its Education Promotion Centre (MPEC) which is based in Ho Chi Minh City had participated in the recently concluded Thailand International Education Exhibition 2009 held on 10 & 11 October 2009 at Queen Sirikit Convention Centre. More than 200 education institutions had participated in the said exhibition.
MPEC in Ho Chi Minh City, one of the four in the world, has to oversee educational promotional efforts in six countries in the region. MPEC had set up its booth and three of its officials from Malaysia and Ho Chi Minh Office had participated in the exhibition with a view of boosting Malaysia’s image as an education hub by targeting local students to further their studies in various institutions in Malaysia. Currently, there are nearly 1,200 Thai students studying in Malaysia at various levels and they form the largest foreign students group from this region.
Throughout the two-day event, more than 300 enquiries had been recorded and this encouraging development had prompted MPEC to intensify its efforts in the future by planning more personalised strategies in the months to come.
