WORKING VISIT BY JAKIM TO THAILAND, 5 - 8 MAY 2012

 A 6-member delegation led by Prof. Adeeba Kamarulzaman undertook a 3-day visit to Thailand where the objective of the visit was to primarily learn from Thailand’s experience in running and managing shelter homes for HIV/AIDS victims.

 

The delegation comprised of representatives from the Department of Islamic Development of Malaysia (JAKIM), Ministry of Health, Public Works Department as well as AIDS Council of Malaysia visited a shelter home in Rayong and had a discussion with the Syeikhul Islam Office in Nongchok in order to learn form the experiences of both entities in managing the issue. On top of that, the delegation also paid a courtesy call on Dato’ Nazirah Hussain on 8 May 2012 before concluding their visit by visiting the Islamic Bank of Thailand.
