7TH INTERNATIONAL FOOD FESTIVAL 2019
SUNDAY, 8 DECEMBER 2019 AT VAN PHUC DIPLOMATIC COMPOUND, HANOI
Perwakilan Hanoi and all HBS from Malawakil Hanoi participated in the 7th International Food Festival 2019 organised by Service Department for Diplomatic Corps, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vietnam. The event was held on 8 December 2019 at the Van Phuc Diplomatic Compound, Hanoi. Malaysian booth was located at the same row with other ASEAN countries.
The festival is an annual cultural and charity fundraising event featuring around 120 pavilions representing embassies, foreign relations departments, non-governmental organisations and foreign cultural centres in Vietnam. The objective of the event is to promote diversity and friendship among different cultures and nations as well as to include donations and contributions to be donated to charitable activities such as construction of schools, new bridges and also scholarships for students.
At the same time, the event gave Malaysia the opportunity to showcase the uniqueness of our multiracial culture and various mouth-watering delicacies. Perwakilan ladies promote Malaysia’s local delicacies by selling nasi lemak, bee hoon goreng, cekodok pisang, karipap, ayam goreng, cek mek molek, and teh tarik. This year, Malaysia sent two recipes i.e. Kek Gula Hangus and Roti Jala to the organiser and were published and distributed to all the participated Embassy.
All collection made from selling the food items were donated to charitable funds in Hanoi.
