ADMISSION SUSPENSION FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS TO MALAYSIA
UNTIL 31 DECEMBER 2020
The Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia announced on 6 October 2020 that the admission of new and existing foreign students into universities and colleges has been postponed to 31 December 2020.
2. However, exemptions will be given to students that have been approved to enter and whom have purchased flight tickets to Malaysia before 8 October 2020. Any entry after 8 October 2020 will be issued with the status - Not To Land (NTL).
3. For all existing international students and caretakers (with valid long term pass) in private and international schools, they are allowed to re-enter Malaysia to continue their studies by requesting for approval from the Director General of Immigration of Malaysia.
4. Meanwhile, international students and caretakers (with valid long term pass) who are studying in the states of Sabah and Sarawak must ALSO obtain approval from the state local authorities prior to seeking approval from the Director General of Immigration of Malaysia.
