The Agong's Golf Charity Cup was organised by Malaysia Club, Hanoi on 4 June 2011 in Heron club (about 25 km from Hanoi). The event was held in conjuction with DYMM Yang di-Pertuan Agong's birthday with a total of 76 participants mostly Malaysians, Vietnamese senior Government officials, representatives from ASEAN missions and Friends of Malaysia. The guest of honour included H.E. Mr. Dao Viet Trung, Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Tran Hai Hau, Director General of Malaysia Desk, Ambassadors of Brunei and Phillippines.
Her Excellency Ambassador Dato' Lim Kim Eng was given the honour to 'tee-off' at 7.00 am. The golf event ended at 12.00 noon and followed by lunch at 12.30 pm. The event managed to raise a donation of USD 3,500 for Blue Dragon Children's Foundation, NGO for underpriveleged Vietnamese children received from various Malaysian companies, local companies and individuals. The Embassy also gave a token contribution for the luncheon during the event.
