HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI OPEN HOUSE HOSTED BY
H.E. DATO’ SHARIFFAH NORHANA SYED MUSTAFFA, 30 MAY 2020
AT RUMAH MALAYSIA
On 30 May 2020, H.E. Dato’ Shariffah Norhana Syed Mustaffa, Ambassador of Malaysia to Vietnam hosted a Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House at the Rumah Malaysia in Tay Ho District, Hanoi. This year Hari Raya Open house was attended by more than 100 invitees including the Ambassadors and spouses from ASEAN countries and other countries including Canada, Denmark, New Zealand, Cuba, Palestine, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Uruguay. The event was also attended by members of the Malaysian diaspora residing in Vietnam and several members of the MTCP Alumni.
The guests were served with varieties of Malaysian cuisines including Nasi Lemak, Satay, Nasi Impit, Lontong, Rendang Daging, Ayam Goreng Berempah, Char Kway Teow and traditional Malaysian desserts and cookies. On top of that, Teh Tarik and Ais Kacang were also served.
The Hari Raya Open House is an annual event hosted by the Malaysian Ambassador. In the past, the event is held in a larger scale. In 2020, however, amid concerns surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of guests were reduced and all guests were required to pass a health-screening prior to being allowed to attend the event. Guests also maintained safe social-distancing among each other. Nevertheless, it did not put a damper on the joyous mood of the guests in soaking up the festive Hari Raya atmosphere. This event was a good opportunity for Malaysians to enjoy the Hari Raya festivity while catching up with one another.
