LATEST REQUIREMENTS FROM THE GOVERNMENT OF VIETNAM

 

 

On 3 August 2020, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of Vietnam has imposed certain requirements with the aim of strengthening measures to prevent COVID-19 specifically related to the entry of investors, technical experts, skilled workers and business managers (hereinafter referred as “experts”).

 

2.         The Government of Vietnam has made an announcement that all organizations and agencies that invite experts to work in Vietnam must:

 

(i)         Ensure the experts prior entering Vietnam are tested with PCR tests (3 – 7 days) before entering Vietnam. Tests for COVID-19 must be done in hospital approved by the Government of Malaysia or part of the laboratory system of the World Health Organization;

 

(ii)        Ensure the experts to have a compulsory international health insurance or the inviting agencies / organizations are requested to have a commitment to pay for the treatment in Vietnam in case of COVID-19 infection; and

 

(iii)       The inviting agencies / organizations are fully responsible to ensure the COVID-19 prevention and control when inviting experts to work in Vietnam.

 

3.         The above request does not apply to experts that will enter Vietnam before or on 5 August 2020.

 

4.         For more clarification on this matter, experts based in Malaysia are required to contact the Embassy of Vietnam in Kuala Lumpur for more information before making any travel arrangements to Vietnam.

 

5.         All Malaysians are reminded to fully comply with the rules and requirements of the Government of Vietnam prior entering the country to avoid any unnecessary problems.
