UPDATED REGULATIONS REGARDING ENTRY AND QUARANTINE OF PERSON UNDER SURVEILLANCE (PUS) ARRIVING FROM OVERSEAS BEGINNING 30 JULY 2020

1. Beginning 30 July 2020, any individuals (Malaysians and foreigners) returning to Malaysia from overseas will be quarantined at the designated quarantine centers assigned by the Government of Malaysia.

2. The Government of Malaysia has also decided that any individuals (Malaysians and foreigners) entering Malaysia from overseas must bear total costs of quarantine in Malaysia.

3. All individual entering Malaysia will be known hereafter as Person Under Surveillance (PUS).

4. A 14-days compulsory quarantine period will be imposed to all.

5. The quarantine costing details are as below:

(i)         Malaysians                -           RM150 per day

(ii)        Foreigners                 -           RM150 per day

(iii)       Disabled person       -           Government will bear the quarantine cost

6. The payment methods are as below:

1. PUS needs to pay a certain amount of deposit / full amount to the hotel assigned during check-in period. Payment via credit card is advised.

2. Balance payment or return of extra payment made will be done during check-out period.

7. Before arrival at Malaysia, all travellers must:

1. Follow the guidelines for entry of Malaysian and non-Malaysian citizen as requested by the Department of Immigration of Malaysia. Please contact our Consular officers for more information at +84 24 37343836/49.

2. All PUS need to request for approval from the Department of Immigration of Malaysia prior entry into or flying out from Malaysia at kpi@imi.gov.my.  Students my refer to the guidelines published by the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) on the latest SOP involving international students at https://educationmalaysia.gov.my/news_update/standard-operating-procedures-during-and-after-covid-19-pandemic-movement-control-order/
3. Check with airlines whether COVID-19 test is compulsory to board the aircraft. The Government of Malaysia announced that any travellers into Malaysia do not need to obtain COVID-19 test and travellers are responsible to check the requirements with the airlines.

4. All PUS will have to undergo a compulsory COVID-19 test upon arrival at the point of entry in Malaysia. The fees for the tests are as below:

5. All individuals travelling to Malaysia must download and complete the Letter of Undertaking and Indemnity through the following link (https://www.kln.gov.my/documents/8390448/8392184/Doc+D_Flowchart+BI_2/ac9c75b3-4924-4d0c-b7c9-e7c90c75b343).

6. Each applicant must submit the LOU via email to Embassy of Malaysia in Hanoi (covering Northern Vietnam and email is mwhanoi@kln.gov.my) and Consulate General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City (covering Central and Southern Vietnam and email is mwhochiminh@kln.gov.my).

7. Based on the rules and regulations set by the Department of Immigration of Malaysia and other agencies, applicants must send the documents to the Embassy / Consulate General office at least three (3) days before departure to obtain approval.

8. Failure to submit the documents and obtain an approval letter may result in person being denied permission to enter Malaysia.

9. To download MySejahtera application in their phones. MySejahtera is an application developed by Government of Malaysia to assist in managing the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
