On 2 October 2024,
Consul General Firdauz Othman paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province. During the meeting, they discussed opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, port management, tourism, education and the halal industry. The Consul General also sought to explore opportunities for collaboration in the renewable energy and wind power sectors.
The Chairman conveyed his appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the Province’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties with Malaysia, particularly to gain insights into the implementation, operation, and policies of major Malaysian ports, which they view as potential models for their own port development project.
