The Consul General, officials of MATRADE and Education Malaysia, accompanied by Vietnam-Malaysia Friendship Association (VMFA) visited Long An province on 14 december 2016, at the invitation of the province's leaders. They met with Mr. Pham Van Canh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee and heads of Long An government agencies. The Consulate, Long An province and VMFA exchanged views on how to further strengthen as well as diversify links in trade, investment, education and culture. There are 6 Malaysian companies in Long An province involved in the manufacturing of rubber, food, plastics and chemical products. The Consul General and delegation also visited the site of a Vietnamese cultural theme park, and the Dongtam industrial park.
