Malaysia participated in the 1st Global SME Ministerial Meeting, 22-24 July 2025 in Johannesburg where we shared Malaysia’s experiences in growing the SME sector, particularly on digitalization, access to finance, and the green transition. The Meeting sought to raise the political importance of SME development by forming a new global platform for developing the sector’s growth.
Malaysia's delegation comprised MATRADE Deputy CEO Mr Abu Bakar Yusof, the High Commission’s CDA a.i. Mr Yap Wei Sin, and MATRADE Johannesburg’s Mr Zamzuri Mohamed. We were also delighted to see Malaysia’s DIBIZ Group’s CEO Mr UR Unnithan share his company’s sustainable commodities traceability platform with the Ministerial Meeting.
