BROOKLYN, Saturday, 16 May 2015 – The ASEAN Pretoria Committee under the chairmanship of Myanmar organized the ASEAN Pretoria Sports and Family day today at the sports complex of Pretoria Primary School in Brooklyn. All ASEAN Heads of Mission in Pretoria and their respective officers as well as ASEAN community assembled at the venue at 8:30am eagerly looking forward for the event. While the program was to foster close relationship among the ASEAN Pretoria members and their respective community, all competitions were taken seriously by the competitors. Five (5) events were organized namely Tug of War, Volleyball, Sack Race, Dart and Karaoke. Malaysia’s competitors manage to collect award in all sports events but were unlucky in karaoke. Awards that Malaysia won as below:
Tug of War (Men): Second Place
Tug of War (Ladies): Second Place
Volleyball (Mixed): Third Place
Sack Race (8-12 years): Champion and Third Place.
Dart (HOM): Third Place.
During the interval, all participants enjoyed the ASEAN sumptuous and varieties of delicacies prepared by all ASEAN missions. The Malaysian High Commission Ladies Association contributed Malaysian Aromatic Rainbow Rice, Malaysian style Beef Korma and Malaysian style prawn dumpling fritter with spicy sour source.
