MIDRAND, Saturday, 23 May 2015 – The FGL Monthly Medal Golf tournament was held this morning at the Malaysian owned Blue Valley Golf and Country Estate in Midrand. More than 80 golfers participated in the tournament including Ambassador of Thailand, High Commissioner of Malaysia and Ambassador Graham Maitland, Chief Director at the Department of Foreign Affairs, South Africa.
Today’s golf game will be the last golf game participated by the High Commissioner of Malaysia who will be completing his tour of duty in South Africa by end of the month. As a sign of appreciation on his support to the league, a farewell gift was presented by the FGL to him. Mitrajaya Group, owner of the golf course also presented a farewell momento to the High Commissioner at the end of the golf game.
Since its formation mid last year, the league has succeeded in attracting diplomats, Expatriates, South African public and private sectors personalities to become member and participate in the monthly games. Currently the league is working towards charity golf tournament in order to contribute to the local society in Pretoria.
