VISIT BY THE FORMER MALAYSIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER TO SOUTH AFRICA YBhg. Dato’ Kadir Mohamad Deen, the former High Commissioner of Malaysia to South Africa, visited the High Commission on 25 May 2016. He was on a one-week private visit to the country and accompanied by his wife, Datin Tengku Rasilah, YBhg. Dato’ Kadir served in Pretoria from 1997 to 1999. It was during Dato’ Kadir’s tenure the Malaysian Government purchased the chancery building and the official residence here. YBhg. Dato’ Kadir spent some time at the chancery where he met the officers and staff and narrated the history behind the acquisition of the two premises, as well as relations between Malaysia and South Africa back then. Having the chance to meet him again after almost 20 years was a pleasant surprise to some of the locally-recruited staff (LRS). High Commission of Malaysia Pretoria 30 May 2016
