Abdullah stays in hotel Malaysians helped to build

PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi taking in the various interesting sights at the 1,539-room Atlantis Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates during an hour-long tour yesterday.

Abdullah is staying at the hotel for two days during his official visit to the UAE.

The five-star deluxe hotel sits on a 46ha piece of land which incorporates a water theme park, retail outlets and a conference centre.

It was constructed at a cost of RM2.2bil and was opened on Sept 24, last year.

The interior of all the rooms, including seven suites, was done by Malaysian company LCL Interiors at a cost of about RM150mil and involved 850 Malaysian workers.
