On 10 September 2025, H.E. Tengku Dato’ Sirajuzzaman Tengku Mohamed Ariffin, Ambassador of Malaysia to the United Arab Emirates, met with H.E. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). H.E. Ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Badrul Hisham Hilal, Consul (Trade) of MATRADE Dubai. The meeting served as a strategic platform to explore new export and investment opportunities for Malaysian companies in Sharjah and to strengthen bilateral trade cooperation. Discussions also focused on enhancing collaboration between the Malaysian and Sharjah business communities, in line with the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Malaysia and the UAE. The Chamber extended an invitation to H.E. Ambassador to attend the upcoming Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show at Expo Centre Sharjah.
The engagement provided valuable insights into Sharjah’s dynamic economy, consumer trends, and emerging sectors, which will support Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to promote its products and services across the UAE. The SCCI expressed strong interest in expanding cooperation and committed to facilitating future business meetings between Malaysian and Sharjah-based companies.
