On 10 September 2025, H.E. Tengku Dato’ Sirajuzzaman Tengku Mohamed Ariffin, Ambassador of Malaysia to the United Arab Emirates, met with Mr. Sultan Al Hajji, Senior Adviser to the President and Vice President of Public Affairs and Alumni Relations at the Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI). The meeting reflected on recent visits, key milestones and expanding areas of cooperation between Malaysia and the UAE, particularly in data center management and education exchange initiatives.
Discussions also focused on advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its growing impact across various sectors. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening research collaboration, promoting innovation and developing skilled talent to meet future technological needs. The meeting highlighted the shared importance of fostering practical applications of AI while ensuring responsible and inclusive use of emerging technologies.
Moving forward, both sides expressed commitment to deepening cooperation in AI education and research. Malaysian universities and students are encouraged to explore opportunities at MBZUAI. The meeting reaffirmed the shared vision of Malaysia and the UAE in advancing innovation, knowledge exchange and sustainable technological progress.
