On 16 and 17 April 2025, the Embassy of Malaysia in Abu Dhabi opened a Book of Condolence to honour the late Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the fifth Prime Minister of Malaysia, who passed away on 14 April 2025.
The passing of Tun Abdullah is a profound loss to the nation and people of Malaysia. In addition to serving as Prime Minister, he also held the portfolio of Minister of Foreign Affairs during his distinguished career.
Among those who paid their respects and signed the condolence book were Ambassadors and representatives from ASEAN member states, including Brunei, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam. Other nations represented included Algeria, Costa Rica, Guatemala, the Holy See, Iran, Ireland, Lithuania, Moldova, Nepal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia and Sri Lanka.
