Conferment of Awards by HM The King of Malaysia
Their Majesties Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah, The King of Malaysia, and Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, The Queen of Malaysia, undertook a Special Visit to the United Arab Emirates from 29 November to 4 December 2023. The Special Visit was under the invitation of His Highness President of UAE to participate in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC COP28) hosted in Expo City Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
On 30 November 2023, HM The King conferred honorary awards upon members of the ruling family of the United Arab Emirates. His Majesty the King has conferred awards upon His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates at an audience on the sidelines of COP28 at Dubai Expo City; The Most Exalted Order of the Crown of the Realm (Darjah Utama Seri Mahkota Negara - D.M.N) and The Most Esteemed Royal Family Order of Pahang (DK Pahang First Class).
Generally, the D.M.N. is conferred to foreign princes, Heads of State and their consorts, and the most distinguished persons. The last recipient of this award was HSH Prince Albert II Price Monaco during HSH’s official visit to Malaysia on 27 November 2023. In addition, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, was also honored with the awards (D.M.N. and DK Pahang Second Class) during his visit to Malaysia in May 2023, for his efforts in advancing cooperation between both nations.
Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the mother of His Highness The President of UAE was conferred The Most Esteemed Royal Family Order of Pahang (DK Pahang First Class). Her Highness Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan, wife of HH President also received DK Pahang Second Class from Her Majesty The Queen. The above awards were presented to Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak and Her Highness Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan by Her Majesty the Queen on 30 November 2023 during an audience by HM The Queen on Her Highness Sheikha Fatima at Her Highness’s Palace in Abu Dhabi.
The awards were conferred by His Majesty The King and were presented by Her Majesty The Queen in recognition of Their Highnesses roles in women's empowerment and strengthening the cooperation of women’s and children’s associations.
