On 21 February 2025, H.E. Tengku Dato’ Sirajuzzaman Tengku Mohamed Ariffin, Ambassador of Malaysia to the UAE, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Tun Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam, Governor of Melaka, during his Working Visit to the UAE on the sidelines of the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX 2025).
H.E. Governor of Melaka’s visit to Abu Dhabi and Dubai focused on strengthening academic collaboration and knowledge exchange between institutions in Melaka and the UAE.
During IDEX 2025, the Governor visited the Rabdan Academy booth, where he received a briefing from Dr. Wan Zokhri Idris, Interim Manager and Senior Fellow Researcher at Rabdan Security and Defence Institute (RSDI). Their discussions explored potential collaboration between RSDI and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTEM) on cybersecurity and AI, academic and student mobility programs between UTEM and Rabdan Academy, and government-to-business (GTB) cooperation opportunities for Melaka and Abu Dhabi.
RSDI is the UAE’s pioneering think tank specializing in security and defense studies. Established under the strategic direction of Rabdan Academy, RSDI provides in-depth analysis, research, and policy recommendations on defence and security issues pertinent to the Middle East.
