Five Malaysian Envoys Receive Appointment Letters
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, today presented letters of appointment to five Malaysian ambassadors.
The Director-General of the Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism, Foreign Ministry, Datuk Md. Hussin Nayan, 56, received his letter of appointment as the Malaysian High Commissioner to Singapore at a special ceremony at Istana Negara, here Friday.
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong also handed letters of appointment to Datuk Yahaya Abdul Jabar as the Malaysian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Datuk Husni Zai (rpt Zai) Yaacob as the Ambassador to Thailand, Ramli Naam (rpt Naam) as the Ambassador to Italy and Kennedy Jawan as the Malaysian High Commissioner to South Africa.
Yahaya, 56, was the Malaysian High Commissioner in Pretoria, South Africa from 2004 until early this month.
Husni, 52, was the Senior Under Secretary, Asia, Oceania and South Africa Directorate, Bilateral Relations Department, Foreign Ministry.
Ramli Naam, 54, was the Malaysian Ambassador to Venezuela in 2005 and Ambassador to Algeria in 2001.
Jawan, 47, was the Counsellor at the Malaysian Embassy in Washington, United States in 2002 and had served as First Secretary in the Malaysian Embassy in Yangon in 1992.
