On 16 January 2024, a ceremony was held at the Ambassador of Thailand's residence for the handover of the ASEAN Committee in Abu Dhabi (ACAD) Chairmanship. Malaysia will chair the ACAD for six months, from January to June 2024.
The ACAD Ambassadors affirmed their commitment to working closely together to strengthen the relationship among the ASEAN community in Abu Dhabi and to promote ASEAN in the UAE. There are currently seven ASEAN Embassies in the UAE namely Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
