His Majesty The King launched the Malaysia Pavilion at the Expo City, Dubai on 1 December 2023. The country’s contingent went with the theme “Going Beyond Green Growth, Resilient Community, Sustainable Planet,” encapsulating Malaysia’s dynamic approach to climate action. The Pavilion signifies Malaysia’s commitment to progressive, holistic solutions—supporting the green economy while ensuring the well-being of communities, the planet, and biodiversity.
The King expects the Malaysia Pavilion to be the focal point for potential investment opportunities and collaboration for the benefit of Malaysia and the global community. Malaysia has set a net-zero target for as early as 2050, subject to the outcome of Long-Term Low Emissions Development Strategies (LT-LEDS). Recognizing the important role of forests as a carbon sink, Malaysia has maintained more than 50% forest cover since the Rio Earth Summit in 1992.
