The Malaysian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin expressed Malaysia's interest in learning from the UAE's advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
He said, the potential to work together for mutual benefit can be created and further strengthened.
Citing the theme of this year’s UAE’s World Government Summit (WGS), 'Shaping Future Governments' as a great idea, the Ambassador said: "In this context, I believe Malaysia will have the best opportunity to work with the UAE government because they are advanced in AI."
H.E. Ambassador also outlined Malaysia's ambitions in renewable energy and data management and the potential for cooperation in both areas.
"I believe the Malaysian government through the renewable energy sector led by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof can further explore opportunities in the data center and energy sector.
"Malaysia has the expertise, it's just that we (Malaysia) need to take advantage of cooperation with leading entities in our country for mutual benefit in AI," he said when met by Bernama outside the World Government Summit (WGS 2024) held here on Tuesday.
In a move to increase cooperation in renewable energy and AI, YAB Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and a delegation visited the offices of MASDAR City and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) located in Masdar City last October.
Last January, Malaysia's Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) and the UAE Ministry of Investment strengthened their commitment to increase investment cooperation in the digital infrastructure sector.
