The defence cooperation between Malaysia and UAE has been further strengthened with the signing of an agreement Army to Army between the two countries on 23 February 2023. The agreement was signed by Lt. General Datuk Seri Mohammad bin Abdul Rahman, Deputy Chief of Army and his UAE counterpart Major General Saeed Rashid Al Shehhi, UAE Land Forces Commander.
The reactivation of the bilateral military exercise between UAE and Malaysia (Desert Tiger Exercise 6/2023) was held in 2023. The 3-week exercise was conducted on 8-27 February 2023 at Al Hamra Camp, Western Region of Abu Dhabi. The closing ceremony of the said exercise was witnessed by His Majesty The King of Malaysia and His Highness President of UAE on 27 February 2023. The event was also attended by the Defence Minister and senior officials of the two Defence Ministries.
