UAE New Visa Rules

Under the Ministerial Decree No. 322 for 2008, new rules pertaining application for visa
to the United Arab Emirates had been introduced and took effect on 29 July 2008.

However, for Malaysian passport holders, there is no major change.

Visa Requirement for Malaysians

Malaysian passport holder, who wishes to enter/visit the UAE
for tourism/social purposes, will not be required to apply for visa,
prior to entering the country, for a period of 30-days.

Malaysia is among the 33 countries being exempted
from the need to apply/pay for visa prior to entry.

For individuals planning to live/work in the United Arab Emirates,
you have to obtain a residence/employment visa.

A residence visa will be issued by the respective Immigration Department
of the emirate you will be residing and provided to you by your sponsor
i.e. company or person you are working for.

Note: Any person caught working on a visit visa will be fined AED 50,000
and banned from entering the UAE and those employing them will face harsh penalties.
