AMBASSADOR OF MALAYSIA MET WITH THE RECTOR OF THE AZERBAIJAN UNIVERSITY OF LANGUAGES AND GAVE A LECTURE TO THE STUDENTS

On 21 April 2017, H.E. Roslan Abdul Rahman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to the Republic of Azerbaijan visited the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL). H.E. Ambassador was welcomed by the members of the Student Youth Organization and Student Diplomat Club of the university and met the acting Rector of the AUL, Professor Afgan Abdullayev.

 

The professor welcomed the Ambassador and provided information on the university’s history, schools, learning process and activities. He also informed about the international relations of the university, cooperation with other foreign universities. Talking about the current study programs of the foreign countries at the university, the Rector expressed his interest in having Malaysian students at the AUL.

 

The Ambassador thanked the Rector for the warm reception and expressed his pleasure to be at the University. Noting that it was his first visit to the AUL, he said that it is a very good opportunity both for students and the Ambassadors. Ambassadors have a chance to share their knowledge and experience with the students, while the students can gain knowledge from the Ambassadors. He also talked about the importance of cooperation between the universities of Malaysia and AUL, and gave information on the Universities present in Malaysia.

 

Professor Abdullayev offered the Ambassador to give a lecture occasionally at the AUL. The Ambassador accepted the offer with a great pleasure. At the end of the meeting, Professor Abdullayev presented a Letter of Thanks to H.E. Ambassador. Following the meeting with the acting rector, Ambassador met with the students of the University and gave a lecture on “Malaysia’s foreign policy and its role in the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC)”. The lecture lasted for two hours and ended with a questions and answers session.
