On 14 August 2022, ASEAN Futsal Tournament was held at Baku City Villa Sports Centre organized by the Embassy of Malaysia in conjunction with the 55th Anniversary of ASEAN to promote ASEAN solidarity as well as to deepen understanding and friendship bilateral relations between the two countries and Azerbaijani people.
This annual tournament was held for the second time since 2021 attended by representatives of both Embassies which include officers, staff, diasporas as well as friends of Malaysia and Indonesia along with family members.
The match was held in a friendly and festive atmosphere, however spirit of competitiveness, perseverance and the desire for victory was truly felt.
At the closing of the match, the Embassy of Malaysia was announced as a champion of the tournament with score 8-3. An ASEAN round-cup and medals were distributed by Ambassadors to all players.
