Malaysian Ambassador paid a courtesy call on HE Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy on 27 May 2024 where both sides acknowledged the potential for increased trade and investment between Malaysia and Azerbaijan.
Among issues discussed were the establishment of the Malaysia-Azerbaijan Business Association, investment opportunities and cooperation in non-traditional sectors such as halal industry, renewable energy, and high technologies.
The upcoming COP29 in Baku was highlighted as an excellent opportunity to foster business collaborations between Malaysian and Azerbaijani companies.
